The City of Dallas is continuing its rollout of digital kiosks, with proposed locations near Oak Lawn. A community meeting is scheduled in the neighborhood to review the plan and gather feedback.
Thursday, April 9 at 6:00 PM
Oak Lawn Branch Library
4100 Cedar Springs Rd.
What’s Being Proposed
The kiosks are freestanding digital screens placed on sidewalks. They are designed to provide maps, public information, and advertising, and they generate revenue for the city.
They could help visitors navigate the area and, if accessible, provide a way to highlight local events and businesses.
What This Means for Oak Lawn
At this time, it does not appear as though the proposed Phase III locations are directly on the Strip.
That said, several are nearby, including key entry points into the district. This means the program could still shape how people arrive in and experience Oak Lawn.
There are also broader considerations. Sidewalk space in our area is already limited, especially during peak hours. Content is managed by the city, and it is still unclear how much access local organizations would have. There is also no clear information yet on whether revenue generated by these kiosks would be reinvested in the neighborhood.
Attend and Share Feedback
This meeting is an opportunity to ask questions, understand the proposal, and provide input before decisions are finalized.
