So…clear your calendars, find something fabulous and sparkly to wear, alert the group chat and maybe start hydrating NOW.

We’re kicking it all off Thursday, September 3rd with the Cedar Springs Wine Walk, and I can’t think of a better way to start a month celebrating the neighborhood we all love.

Come sip some wine. Shop the Strip. Support our local LGBTQ+ owned businesses. See everyone you know. Pretend you don’t see someone you don’t want to know. Compliment a stranger’s outfit. Have another glass of wine. Buy something you absolutely did NOT come for and then stay for dinner and drinks and see where the night takes you…You know. Cedar Springs.

And honey, the Wine Walk is just the opening number!

We’re shutting down the street for 2 a HUGE 2-day party! We’ve got the Oak Lawn Live: Music & Arts Festival bringing the party to the neighborhood on September 19th followed the Pride in Dallas Parade coming down Cedar Springs in the heart of the gayborhood the following day on September 20th.

Basically, Oak Lawn has decided to make September about Oak Lawn, and we fully support this decision. Because this neighborhood deserves to be celebrated!

Cedar Springs has been a place where generations of LGBTQ+ people have come to find community, chosen family, a little trouble, a lot of fun and a place where they could simply be themselves. There’s history here. There’s family here. There are incredible locally owned LGBTQ+ businesses here that we MUST support!

There are also fabulous drag queens, yummy cocktails, questionable decisions and enough hairspray to alter the Dallas ozone layer. Some call it chaos. We call it community.

So we implore you to grab your friends, your neighbors, your chosen family, your ex who somehow became your best friend, and that one person who said they were “only going to stay for one drink.” and come celebrate our great Cedar Springs neighborhood. Come celebrate Oak Lawn.

Come celebrate this big, beautiful, weird, wonderful, historic, unapologetically fabulous neighborhood we get to call ours.

She’s booked. She’s busy. She’s historic. She’s homosexual.

And she looks damn good for her age.
