The Oak Lawn Band will present Symphonic Promenade: May I Have This Dance? on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Moody Performance Hall, 2520 Flora Street, Dallas, TX 75201. Tickets are available here.
This concert closes out the band’s 2026 season with a program built around dance music across cultures, genres, and eras. The artistic vision centers on movement as a shared language. Oak Lawn Band describes the performance as a joyful celebration of dance, community, and cultural expression, with music that invites audiences to move, reflect, and celebrate. The program draws from ballet, Cuban danzón, tango, jazz, and contemporary wind repertoire, then closes with Benny Goodman’s Sing, Sing, Sing.
The event also reflects collaboration. In addition to the band, the performance includes dancers, helping bring the concert’s theme of movement to life. Oak Lawn Band also partners with Resource Center, extending the event’s connection to LGBTQIA+ community visibility, support, and connection in Dallas.
While the concert takes place outside the Cedar Springs district, it still reflects values that matter deeply to this community: artistic excellence, LGBTQIA+ visibility, and spaces where people can gather around something joyful and shared.
