Kroger Community Day Dallas will bring thousands of volunteers together at Gilley’s Dallas on Friday, August 7, to pack up to one million nutritious meals for Texas families experiencing food insecurity. Presented by Kroger and U.S. Hunger, the event is open to individuals, families, workplace teams, community organizations, and anyone ready to spend part of the day serving their neighbors. No previous volunteer experience is required.

Volunteers can choose from three roles based on their interests and physical abilities. Community Volunteers will work alongside other participants to assemble and package meals. This role requires no prior experience and is a good fit for individuals, families, and groups.
Table Captains will lead teams of approximately 10–15 volunteers and help ensure meals are packaged correctly. This role is best suited for people who are comfortable providing instructions and keeping a team organized.
Heavy Lifters will refill food bins, move supplies, and carry completed boxes to pallets. Volunteers selecting this role must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
The event is family-friendly and open to volunteers of all ages. Children younger than 14 must participate with an adult volunteer. Participants may register for multiple shifts, and walk-in opportunities will be available. The first 2,000 volunteers will receive a Kroger Zero Hunger | Zero Waste T-shirt while supplies last.
