At Purple Foundation we never rest in our pursuit of delivering the hottest parties in the south, which provide essential resources to our beneficiaries. We’re making our mark on 2015 with the first edition of Spin, featuring the amazing DJ Aron and an opening set by local DJ Paul McElroy on Friday, February 27th. Spin has quickly become incredibly popular, bringing some of the world’s greatest DJs to Dallas and filling the floor at Station 4 (S4). As we enter our 15th anniversary year, Purple Foundation is excited to turn up the volume, and we look forward to this year being our most successful Purple Party Weekend to date.
Internationally acclaimed DJ Aron will fill the dance floor with his pulsating tribal rhythms, blended with a mix of vocals that result in a distinctively rich big-room sound. Originally hailing from Tel Aviv, DJ Aron now lives in New York City, where he holds a residency at VIVA. He’s headlined circuit events across the globe including Circuit Festival (Barcelona), Xlsior (Greece), We Party (Madrid), Masterbeat (Los Angeles), The Week (Brazil), and Papa Party. When he is not inspiring his crowds with his signature driving beats, he is working on his own original productions, often featuring vocalist Beth Sacks, and remixes for some of today’s hottest artists including Beyonce, Sia, Pink, and Lady Gaga.
S4 has stepped up its game with a thundering new sound system and state-of-the-art lighting experience in this 24,000-square-foot mega-club. In addition to its sweeping dance floor, S4 features a large patio and world-class drag entertainers in its Rose Room. Tickets are available online or at the door for $10, with proceeds benefiting local HIV/AIDS organizations.
As an additional bonus performing alongside the fabulous Rose Room cast, enjoy a special performace by Atlantic Records recording artist Katy Tiz. Combining the “girl power” attitude of the Spice Girls with the modern stance of Ke$ha, U.K. singer Katy Tiz broke through in 2013 with the dance-pop hit “Red Cup.” Tiz originally began singing in a duo with her brother, but after gigging around the U.K. with their folk-rock music, Tiz decided in 2011 that pure pop was her calling, and that it was best to take on this quest solo. After posting the demo of her song “Fire Fire” to the taste-making ArjanWrites, Tiz was contacted by Arjan, the blog’s owner, who had been asked to pass along the contact information for Lava Records A&R head Harinder Rana. She signed with Lava and during 2012-2013 released three singles (“Famous,” “Heart,” “Red Cup”). She then teamed with producers Rock Mafia, and released “The Big Bang” in early 2014. Its success prompted a new deal with Atlantic Records, and the single broke into the Top 100 by May. She continued working on material in anticipation of a new album to be released in 2015. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi
