Purple Party Weekend is kicking off its 15th anniversary with a Roar! After a wildly successful inaugural year, Roar, Purple Party Weekend’s signature event for the bear community, returns to the Dallas Eagle on Friday night. The fur will fly as DJ Doug Jackson headlines this year’s party with an opening set from Dallas’s own DJ Perry.
Hailing from Ft. Lauderdale, DJ Doug Jackson is a fan favorite in the bear scene. His dance floor will bring out your animal instincts as Doug treats you to a musical feast of sexy, bass-driven rhythms, big-room vocals, and the latest in progressive, tech, electro, and tribal. For the past five years, Doug has played Bear Week Provincetown at the Crown & Anchor, including the prestigious Fireman’s Ball. Other events he has played include TBRU’s BearDance, IBC’s Bearheat, NYC’s Furball, Copenhagen’s Bearzerk! Gay Pride, Atlanta’s Bear Invasion, Beach Bear Weekend Fort Lauderdale, and many more.
The Eagle is a Dallas original and one of the friendliest and most popular bars in Texas. Whether you are on the prowl or just looking for a great night out, The Eagle is a friendly and welcoming bar where all types go to dance, catch up with friends, and be themselves. With two bars, a lively dance floor, and an expansive patio, the Eagle is a great place to start your Purple Party Weekend. Roar starts at 9 p.m. and keeps going until 2 a.m.—so you’ll still have plenty of time to keep the party going at Ignite with DJ Ivan Gomez.
