REVIVAL | Tea Dance 2015

The Historic Hall of State at Fair Park

The Historic Hall of State at Fair Park

Purple Party Weekend is having a Revival—and we know you’ll feel the spirit! We’ve upgraded our popular Sunday Revival party to Dallas’s iconic Hall of State building at Fair Park and brought back one of Purple’s favorite headliners Danny Verde, and local rising star Brandon Moses, to throw down a Texas-sized tea dance like no other. We promise a bigger, more spectacular party with all the sparkle you expect and more.

Back by popular demand, International DJ and producer, Danny Verde returns for his third consecutive Purple Party Weekend appearance. Danny has wowed Purple attendees with his signature high-energy sound, fueled by driving beats and lifted with soaring, powerful vocals. Hailing from Milan, Italy, Danny is one of the most sought after DJs and remixers on the international and U.S scene. He has remixed some of the biggest pop stars of our time including Cher, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga, Avicii, and Selena Gomez.

Hometown hero, DJ Brandon Moses will set the party in motion with an extended opening set. Brandon has been a strong force on the circuit and a big part of the Purple Foundation DJ family. His past appearances include Telluride Gay Ski Week, New Orleans’s Halloween, and Pensacola’s Memorial Day Weekend.

Purple Party Weekend has a proud history of showcasing the best of Dallas by featuring the city’s finest venues. Home to the Texas State Fair, Fair Park is one of the state’s most revered venues and remains the only unaltered pre-1950s World Fair site in the United States. We’ve elevated our production, incorporating even more visuals and lighting for a bigger, better, more spiritual experience. You’ll feel inspired dancing under 46-foot, lofted cathedral ceilings, surrounded by the history and beauty of original art deco architecture and filled with the spirit of the friendliest party-goers in the world.

Don’t miss this extremely rare opportunity to dance the night away in one of Dallas’s most historic venues while supporting important local HIV and AIDS organizations. Purple Foundation will provide a free shuttle between Fair Park and our host hotel, the luxurious, historic, Warwick Melrose.

Dallas Purple Party Weekend 15 is May 8–11. Passes are on sale now. Book early and take advantage of one of the best weekend deals around. The Purple Party Main Event tickets are also available separately at $40 for early birds, $60 in advance, and $80 at the door—so act before February 13 to get 50% off door prices.

DJ Danny Verde (Italy)

DJ Danny Verde

DJ Danny Verde

Danny Verde is a musical prodigy who has worked in all aspects of music; including house, dance-pop production, DJ, songwriting and vocalist. He lives just outside Milan in Northern Italy, where his recording studio “Holab Studio” has been home to much collaboration with international labels, artists, and producers, churning out nearly 70 Official Productions and remixes from 1994 to present. His first big success was with the Italian S.M.S. project, which produced two hit singles, including, “La Vie C’est Fantastique” in 2001, which was number 1 on the official Italian dance chart, as well as the follow up, “Just A Bit Of Chaos”, which reached both number 1 in Italy and Brasil on Time Records. His next project was the huge international single “La Isla Bonita”, a cover of the classic Madonna tune. The song was issued under the band name SQUEEZE UP and was published in more than 20 countries. The hit made it into the top 10 singles chart in France and was supported by a video clip shot in Marbella, Spain. SQUEEZE UP’S next single was another Madonna cover, “Who’s That Girl”, and was licensed in Scandinavia, Japan, Russia and Greece. In 2008 Danny released the house track “Pushin To The Top”; in collaboration with The Halmadaxx Team and with the help of International DJ’s reached number 1 on the Ministry Of Sound download chart; number 1 on the Djdownload.com chart and was top 10 on the Beatport progressive house chart.

After being hired to do a remix for Tommy Boy Records (New York), for the single “Heartbreak on Vinyl’” by Blake Lewis (from the US TV program American Idol 2007), which went to number 1 in the official Billboard Dance Chart U.S in 2010, Danny was signed exclusively to Tommyboy as a producer, and to Madtizzy Productions for DJ representation.

Fast Forward to late 2011 – OCT 21 – Danny Verde’s Remix of Lady Gaga’s YOU AND I is the #1 most downloaded on iTUNES of all the official remixes, and #1 on the BIllboard Dance Music Chart!!! As if that wasn’t enough, on the same chart, his remix of Eva’s Ashes is climbing as well!!! Jump three months to JAN 09, 2012, and Verde’s SECOND CONSECUTIVE Single with Lady Gaga , MARRY THE NIGHT, also tops  at #1 on the Billboard Dance Chart, at the same time  that  Rosabel’s  LET ME BE MYSELF (on which one of the supporting remixes is Verde’s) ,  is at # 18. FEB 19, Verde scores another hit with Neon Hitch’s FUCK U BETTA which debuts #8 on Billboard Dance, and reaches #1 by first week of March. And Summer 2012 has welcomed yet two more Verde Remixes which are quickly becoming dance floor favorites:  Cyndi Lauper’s SEX IS IN THE HEEL, and The Wanted’s CHASING THE SUN, which reached  #1 Billboard in July, giving Danny his FOURTH #1 Billboard Club hit in less than nine months.

Already  staple on the European Dance Circuit, 2010-11  proved to be a huge season for Danny in South America, where he has played literally every major city in Brazil…. in less than one year. However, it’s Danny’s ever increasing roster of US and Canadian venues  & events  for 2012 , that everyone ‘s lips buzzing with his name…..including NYC PRIDE Alegria, San Diego Pride Main Event, Vancouver Pride Rapture, Montreal Pride Main Event , DC’s Town, Boston’s House of Blues, Miami Winter Party Festival, Toronto,  SFO’s Hero, White Party Week Miami, and now Purple Party. Several DJs can only produce. But when you talk about a Producer who can actually deliver a relentless set to a live audience, Danny Verde is the Man.

DJ Brandon Moses (Dallas)

DJ Brandon Moses
Brandon’s unique style of vocal-infused dance music is very much a product of his past experiences as a professional musician. Starting in fourth grade, Brandon sang in his school and church choirs and continued to sing all the way through his years at his University. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in music education, Brandon taught middle school choir for six years. “I love to sing. It’s always been a huge part of my life. When I’m spinning, you’ll often see me singing along.”

This aspiring DJ started releasing podcasts in 2008. After gaining a small group of fans that encouraged him to keep putting out more mixes, Brandon was soon DJing live at small venues throughout the Dallas area. This soon led to a residency at The Tin Room and the Drama Room.

In October of 2010, Brandon left his residencies and concentrated on private events and parties. He has become a sought after DJ for several charitable organizations in the Dallas area. The Purple Foundation has invited him to spin at the main event of The Purple Party three years in a row. He has spun the Dallas Red Party twice, The Lambda Legal White Party in Dallas, the Toast to Life Reception for the Dallas Resource Center, and the official Black Tie Dinner After Party. His favorite charity event was a private Christmas party in which the attendees were required to bring a teddy bear to donate to Children’s Medical Center.

In addition to charitable events in Dallas, Brandon’s talent has reached further abroad. Now three years in a row, it is safe to say he is the resident DJ at the Portofino Island Resort in Pensacola Beach for Memorial Day weekend. Brandon has also played two years in a row for the Telluride Gay Ski Week in Telluride, CO.

“I’m extremely excited about what the future holds,” said Brandon. “I have big dreams, and an even bigger passion for dancing and music. It gives me great joy to see friends having fun on the dance floor, with smiles on their faces. It’s really quite simple…I love music, I love to dance, and I love making people happy. What could be better than being a DJ?”
