Dallas Hope Charities is celebrating ten years of service, community, and hope—and everyone is invited to the birthday party. The nonprofit will mark the milestone with its Legacy of Hope: 10th Birthday BBQ Bash on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Union Coffee Dallas, located at 3705 Cedar Springs Road.
Instead of formal attire and a traditional fundraising gala, Dallas Hope Charities is creating a relaxed neighborhood celebration filled with barbecue, birthday cake, backyard games, and community entertainment. The evening offers supporters an opportunity to celebrate how far the organization has come while helping sustain its work for LGBTQIA+ young adults experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.

Celebrating a Decade of Hope
Dallas Hope Charities’ mission is to provide food, shelter, and services that instill dignity, stability, and Hope for All. That mission is carried forward through programs addressing housing instability, isolation, safety, suicide prevention, and the need for affirming community resources. At the center of this work is the Dallas Hope Center, an LGBTQIA+-focused transitional living program serving young adults between the ages of 18 and 24.
The Hope Center provides more than a temporary place to stay. Residents receive support as they stabilize their lives, pursue employment and education, obtain identification documents, access healthcare and community resources, develop financial skills, and prepare for independent living.
Young LGBTQIA+ adults can face homelessness following family rejection, unsafe living conditions, or aging out of foster care without a stable support system. For someone navigating those circumstances, an affirming home can provide the stability needed to move beyond immediate survival and begin building a sustainable future.
The purpose of Dallas Hope Charities is not simply to provide services for a moment. It is to help people reclaim their dignity, strengthen their independence, and move toward lasting stability.
More Ways to Support Legacy of Hope
Guests can support the celebration in several ways beyond purchasing a ticket.
The Legacy of Hope online auction will open on Saturday, August 8, one week before the event. Auction packages will include local experiences, special items, and other opportunities to support Dallas Hope Charities. Proceeds from winning bids will help expand transitional housing and life-affirming services for LGBTQIA+ young adults in North Texas.
Dallas Hope Charities is also recruiting volunteer performers for a community variety showcase. Amateur singers, poets, comedians, musicians, and storytellers are encouraged to share their talents during the celebration.
Volunteers are needed to help with guest greetings, check-in, games, setup, event operations, and teardown. These roles offer another way for community members to contribute their time and help make the milestone celebration successful.
