First Look: Cedar Grove
The gist: After a soft opening weekend, Cedar Grove is officially open in the old Dish Cedar Springs space. Created by the NL Group (the same team behind the original Dish, Dish Preston Hollow and Front Room Tavern), the new, far more casual concept better fits the neighborhood with an emphasis on quality, with creative food still at the forefront.
The chef: Chef Taylor Kearney, a recent Zagat 30 Under 30 honoree, is doing double-duty, leading the kitchen both here and at Front Room Tavern. His farm-to-table focus includes several shareable plates and a handful of larger entrees, with everything on the menu under $25. Full food and drink menus are included at the end of this story.
The food: The locally sourced menu is mostly New American with a few Southern and Tex-Mex favorites thrown in for good measure, including deviled eggs (pictured above), which are adorned with crispy ham and housemade hot sauce to spice things up to your personal preference.
